Clinical animal behaviourist Dr Michelle Lord CCAB offers both in-person and online ‘behavioural consultation packages’ for owners experiencing problems with their dogs’ behaviour. The behaviour consultation package would involve a full history taking, explanation and diagnosis of the behaviour issue(s), and advice on both recommended management techniques and a behaviour training plan for you to follow.
After your behaviour consultation you will be sent a written report of the advice given and describing, in detail, how to proceed with your treatment plan. This report will be sent to you within 2-3 working days. Michelle will contact you to assess progress and offer any support needed at several time points after your consultation;
10-14 days after the consultation, one month after the consultation, two months after the consultation and three months after the consultation.
If you would benefit from additional follow up sessions these are very much accommodated and encouraged by Michelle.
You will be offered 3 months ongoing phone and email support from the date of the first consultation. If at the end of the 3 month period you would like to extend this support, Michelle would request that she carries out a one hour follow up session which will include a further one month period of follow up support by phone and email.
Please bear in mind that there are no ‘quick fixes’ for behavioural issues in dogs. You will be required to commit to the treatment plan as advised by Michelle and you will be encouraged to make use of Michelle’s follow up support services.
